hlta support

hi iam new in here iam doing an HLTA course and iam struggling with one question can somebody help me with the answer please here the question: list 5 main theories and current research related to the role and practice of a hlta.
for each theory explain how u have updated ur knowledge and understanding of how thses apply to your practice.

woah I think this is not a course which leads to HLTA status - what course are you doing? Is it by any chance a level 4 distance learning course?
5 main theories - well you could go for vygotsky and Piaget for learning theories
then one for spelling, reading and now I'm stuck

Can I ask what course you are doing Jack? This is not one of the HLTA standards which would be part of an HLTA course.

Main theorists Piaget, Vygotsky, Brunner, Skinner, Dewy, Thorndike et al. Google search main theorists for learning and you come up with lots to chose from.
Look at each theory and then state how these would impact on your interactions and how you would use this knowledge to further the learning of the children you come into contact with.

Again, could you tell us what course you are doing? We ask as distance courses do not give HLTA status and to gain this you need to meet all the standards which include taking one to one, groups and whole class teaching.

I thought as much - Ncc strikes again - are you aware this will not give you hlta status? It is alot of money for you to pay out for nothing

Ekk! Not worth the paper it is written on in my opinion. This 'helps' with knowledge of teaching and learning and not with the delivery of it.

mmmm we had quite a few folks on the old forum who thought this would give them hlta status it is too bad of the firm not to clearly state in large block letters and I think having HLTA in the title is wrong

Which legislations and guidelines? For which standards ? Is there a reference? Is it for Sen , or general teaching?

I know it doesn't lead to HLTA qualification but I needed something to keep my mind active and the setting I'm in have over looked me several times to do the proper HLTA training. I just needed to prove that I am capable of doing something on my own.

Think teaching assistant and what legislation relates to this. You will find more info in our CYPW forums Good luck with it, though I feel a fnd degree would have been better for you

glad you know Ginny as LMS says there is some info on CYPW forum I would go for things like safeguarding, phonics, curriculum, speicial ed needs erm and not sure for my fifth
