TA application
Not sure if this post is in the correct place but here goes.
I am doing a distance learning Level 3 course, placement required from Module 5 onwards and am struggling to find one......schools not responding!
I have seen a TA position advertised for a local primary school. It states Level 2 desirable but not essential. I intend applying in the hope that even if unsuccessful, I might get offered the voluntary hours I need.
My question is, if I do get an interview, what questions are likely to be asked of me? I know how to sell myself but what should I need to really concentrate on, Safeguarding, Every Child Matters etc?
Any advice would be most appreciated!

Re: TA application
Hi and welcome to the forum
You will be asked questions on behaviour, what would you do if? How would you deal with?
How to support individuals and groups accessing the curriculum?
How would you deal with parents?
Safeguarding as you have said. Lots more but early in the morning to think lol
When in interview always say I would make myself aware of your policies and procedures and follow them, good luck x

Re: TA application
Just been through this, got the following questions
What can you bring to this position/school?
What can you tell me about Safeguarding?
What is the relationship between adult and child?
What would you deem as good practice?
If a parent approached you and started to discuss another young person in the classroom what would your response be?
How would you engage a young person in learning?
How would you assess progress?
What strategy would you use to calm an anxious young person?
Explain your role in the classroom in relation to the teacher and the young people?
I hope this helps.
