hi all iam new in here, can somebody help me with one question of hlt course iam doing please?
a)why is it important that you have realistic expectations about a child or young person's abilities and capabilities to support their learning and development?
b)give an example of how you have used realistic expectations for a child with SEN

hi George welcome to the forum. Just to be sure you do know the course you are doing will not give you hlta status?
right on to your question - a) if you have unrealisitic high expectations you may damage the child's esteem by asking the child to do something they are not yet able to do. If you have lower expectations the child could get bored and disruptive. You should always aim slightly above a child's ability.
as for part b it needs to be a child you have worked with think of the sen children you have worked with something will come from that
