Loads of PSHE resources
With all of the unfounded rubbish, untruths and scare-stories that exists all over the Internet and social media, it really concerns me that, as a consequence of our young people turning to technology to search for answers to questions on issues such as sex, relationships, drugs, teenage pregnancy and alcohol, they receive confusing, conflicting and untrue information. I believe that this dangerous misinformation can result in them to making poor decisions that, in extreme cases, can have profound and serious impacts on their lives and well-being.
Therefore, I think it is becoming increasingly important that us PSHE teachers give these kids the correct information which is explained simply and clearly so that they are well informed and can live their young lives safely, healthily and happily.
In order for us to do this we need some great resources. My favourite resource company, ‘Teaching-Resources-UK.com’ have produced a massive range of PSHE lessons, form time activities and assemblies to assist teachers in their pedagogical duties.
Check them out, I’m positive that you won’t be disappointed!

Re: Loads of PSHE resources
Just as an illustration of what I said in my previous post about the resources from ‘ ‘Teaching-Resources-UK.com’ I’m going to be doing some lessons with my Y10’s on Cannabis and Mental Health and I am using their resources to deliver them. I know I am a fan but I just love them. I don’t have to spend ages planning the lessons, constructing a presentation or creating the worksheets I just familiarize myself with the content and away I go. They get the information across simply, but clearly and as these ‘Cannabis’ lessons do, they often come as part as their own mini-scheme of work that run nicely after one another with initial sections of following lessons devoted to previous lesson recaps or reference to prior learning.
Cannabis is one of those subjects that is steeped in half-truths and urban-myths, which was plainly obvious when we discussed what they already knew about it but what they didn’t have a clue about was the potential impact that the drug can have on your mental well-being. So, it was a very valuable lesson for them.

Re: Loads of PSHE resources
You are right Mrs Christy and I may use some of them as a speaking ad listening tool in functional skills
Re: Loads of PSHE resources
That's a really good idea Lil Miss Sunshine, I think I might try using them in that way in my FS lessons too. Thanks

Re: Loads of PSHE resources
It is something most teens are very aware about and will get them discussing issues more freely. I also did one on knife crime that generated quite a lot and was an eye opener as well.
