Claiming Standards 2-4 times Empty Claiming Standards 2-4 times

Post by chappers Sun May 05, 2013 8:49 pm

Hello!

First time on here. I've been on the 2 day assessment route - nice facilitator but why can't they be more helpful when you email them? I've only emailed twice and that was about the assessor dates and Standard 31. All I got was a non-personalised reply which was also sent to everyone else on course but not really answering specific questions I had asked. For this reason I am reluctant to ask him any more questions, in fact there have been very few questions asked by the people in my assessment group.

I'm at the point of putting my Tasks and Evidence all together and remember hearing my facilitator say "you can only claim a standard 2-4 times." I just want to make sure that's "per Task" and not 2-4 times overall! This probably is a really stupid question but I'm at the point where I'm beginning to doubt everything I've got in my head. Laughing

Thanks in anticipation!

If your evidence is solid for a standard across the whole of your portfolio then twice is enough.
HLTA is not like NVQ where you have to produce reams of evidence to claim. Quality not quantity is what they are looking for.
Standard 31 is about you taking the class without a teacher present. This can be whole class teaching or a large group. Using your planning and preparation you will cover lots of standards and if you have a teaching assistant as well bonus as more standards are covered here. I hope this helps and feel free to ask if you need help Very Happy
