Re: What sort of day have you had
I went to visit my Dad in hospital again today as he had a stroke last Monday and surgery to insert a stent on Thursday. He is very weak down one side and will take a long time to recover. We are now on the search to find him sheltered housing!
Before that I was at a friends son's birthday party face painting!

Re: What sort of day have you had
phew sat with my feet up as I went over on my ankle getting out of the car, it was doing ok till I forgot about it and jumped off my 'perch' on top of a drawer unit (where I had been overseeing year 6's drama) and it gave way again. Thankfully had only another hour to walk on it

Re: What sort of day have you had
Got up and made sure everyone was off the premises before taking a shower.
Did some washing went to the bank then drove to a uni friends to talk about our dissertations and the impending induction evening (Tues).
6.15pm attended my 1st gcse english class -far too many people in a tiny room !!!!
But the tutor is nice and it looks as though the course will be interesting so thats good.
Finished at 9pm drove 9 miles home and made a cuppa !!!
Oh the life of a student is so different from the one im used to !! lol

Re: What sort of day have you had
Lazy days ahead then mrsp lol. Oh Caffeine take it easy chick.
Yesterday was spent trying to get somewhere for Dad to be when he finnaly comes out of hospital. His home just is not suitable and he says he will not feel safe being there either. So I spent ages calling sheltered housing etc, very expensive. My brother called to say he had found a bungalow for sale, I looked on the website he was viewing and found one at 35k! Ideal for Dad. So then the rest of the morning both of us were phoning round to see how we get things moving on a)buying the bungalow and b)selling his house
I went to see Dad in the afternoon, he is very pleased and excited about moving and is happy we have found something for him. I just don't want him to feel like we are railroading him into something and he reassured me that that was not the case. He looked so happy and the twinkle appeared in his eyes at the thought of it. So now we have to sort out his four bedroom through terrace and what he is taking, leaving and what will be given away etc. My brother is going to view the bungalow this morning, take lots of pictures for Dad and see what adaptations we need to do. The only major one is taking out the bath and fitting a shower, adding a ramp to the front.
On top of this I have to work, so does my brother but he can work from home some days so not too bad.
To say we are all shattered is an understatement!

Oh and for you Helen (cant leave you out !)
Ive just returned from my 3rd yr induction evening at Bath Spa !! I feel like a proper student now lol
We met the tutors who all seemed very approachable so thats good. They made a big point of saying that to progress to pgce you need to attend an interview, where unlike other courses school experiences is highly respected over anything else !!so I must be sure to mention my 12 yrs in school
out of 12 of us that took foundation degrees 7 of us are going onto hons so not too bad .At least I will know some faces !

Re: What sort of day have you had
It is nice to have some friendly faces when you progress, I will be the same next week when I embark on my yr 2 cert ed
Dad was much better yesterday and happy about the move. I just hope that it doesn't fall through and we can not get him it. I don't want him going back to his old house at all. This weekend is going to be spent trying to clean up and organise what is going and what is not. Dad isn't the tidiest of folk either.
I did have some me time yesterday Helen, my nail lady came and I had them re done

Aww hugs Daisycat xx
I had a good day at work, much different from last Thursday
We now have a new IT tutor so I do not have to deliver that subject anymore, so I am now just the two learning aims which is a big weight off my shoulders, especially with Dad and starting cert ed yr 2.
My Dad is looking very well and recovering at a good rate, house sale is taking time but someone coming Monday to look, fingers crossed.
I have the day off today to start cleaning but I am also going to sit in the library and get my assignments done that I have not had time to do.

Re: What sort of day have you had
Not had chance to get going with the cleaning but I have completed an assignment, just need to type it up and send it on its way Leeds City Library is rubbish. Didn't have any of the books I wanted, so went to college instead. So that was an hours study time wasted Not happy about that at all. I seriously thought it would be the best place. College was lovely, I sat in the library just grabbing a book here and there and using them for reference. I did come home with four as well, not sure when I will get time to look at them though. Must do myself a timetable for this coming week.
The clean of Dad's house starts tomorrow  Four of us should get it done easy, so Sunday I hope will be a relaxingish day.
So what is everyone else up to this weekend?

Re: What sort of day have you had
LMS - Hope the 'big clean' goes well! Housework is so boring most of the time, but this is different - there's a real purpose to it. I am off to a barbecue at my sister's in Hertfordshire on Sunday. Really looking forward to it, as the whole family are getting together; we live quite a long way apart and so can't do it very often. Sadly the weather forecast isn't great - bet my poor sister is hoping she doesn't have to have all of us indoors all day!
Hope everyone has a good weekend X

Re: What sort of day have you had
Shattered is one word for it! It took five hours and four of us to clean Dad's house! Not even a real deep clean either. As he is a pipe smoker everything was covered in that yellow sticky gunk
But now it is looking spick and span ready for the company who has given us a quote to come and view monday afternoon. All being well they will still say yes and it's a done deal, fingers crossed.

Re: What sort of day have you had
great news cindy. Yesterday was lovely for us. We spent the afternoon in the village looking at the scarecrow festival - the theme this year is adverts
and then there was a free music concert at the local pub with tribute bands
lovely weather and good music. A real treat for me as I cant go to music concerts, too many flashing lights and music too loud.

Re: What sort of day have you had
Sounds great Cindy and glad your day went well Helen !
Got my car back yesterday after the water tank exploded = £350
Our emersion tank in the airing cupboard started leaking as well so a replacement was fitted =another £350 both in the same week !!!
My parents came over yesterday for a change (I usually go to them on Sat for lunch ) They only live 9 miles away so not far .We spent ages sat in the conservatory looking at old photos
My mum brought the latest chapter of her book (she is writing about her years growing up in a childrens home in the New Forest ) each chapter she completes is given to us to read, we think its really good as she makes it all so interesting. We just need to find a publisher (she has had 1 offer already ) obviously I dont take after her
Ive attacked my English homework ready for tomorrow evening.
Im also trying to finish all of the stls L3 witness statements ( its for a work collegue and i did her level 2 last year so its not too bad although id forgotten how many there were !!!!! suppose that`ll teach me for offering
Have cleaned out guineapigs hutch
Hoovered
Eaten lunch
Had several cups of tea !!
Not intending to do much more as this week will no doubt be another mad one !

Re: What sort of day have you had
LMS - sounds like you all worked your socks off yesterday, hope tomorow goes well. Glad everyone has had a good weekend. The sun shone (mostly) for the barbecue; it was really good to get together with all the family. It makes you think about the things that are really important. Driving home, I was thinking about the dreaded C word (Christmas) and am considering asking as many of them as I can fit in to come to us for the holiday.............................
Monday morning tomorrow - have a good week, folks x
