Advice Please: Re-entering Education as TA with PGCE - which course for further development

Post by Toady on Mon Oct 20, 2014 10:13 pm

Hi,

I need some advice please.
I have a PGCE and worked as a Primary Supply Teacher twenty-years ago which I loved, but the pay was sporadic. I've spent the last twenty years developing a career in Business but I'm keen to re-enter the Education profession as a TA and have arranged to volunteer in a local Primary School.
I am considering enrolling on a Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning (SEN) course in January. Is this course suitable for a someone with a PGCE? Should I be considering studying for a PG Dip or a PG Cert instead?

Many thanks!

Toady

I'm sorry for the late reply my degree is taking a lot of my time!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would think you'll be a bit bored to be honest a case of teaching grandma to suck eggs. although as you worked in education 20 years ago things have changed quite a bit it could get you into the way of seeing things from a t.a. point of view
