Advice needed re online course please.
Hi all, I have completed STL 2 and am now considering starting CYPW 3.
I have found a course on an online website and wondered if anyone can advise me on whether it is the correct qualification required to work in an Early Years setting.
The name of the course is 'Children and Young People’s Workforce (Early Years) Diploma QCF Level 3 Course'.
It is an NCFE course but is priced at approximately a quarter of the price than everywhere else. This has set alarm bells ringing in my head.
Am I allowed to post a link to the course or name the website on this forum?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
Caroline.

Re: Advice needed re online course please.
cindy is your best bet to help you but yes post the link and I will investigate
is it the stonebridge one? just been reading it and it says you need someone in your workplace who will assess you for the skills element.
Now this makes me think you need someone who has done the assessing course (as cindy has) but I may be wrong and of course you need someone who can/will do this. If it isnt this one not sure why it is so cheap

Here is the link for that course [Only admins are allowed to see this link]
I have also found two other courses on there, this one is theory only

And this is the third one: [Only admins are allowed to see this link]
I was wondering if any of those would enable me to work in an early years setting, thank you!

Re: Advice needed re online course please.
It looks like they will accept witness testimonies from a suitable person. I do not like online course of this nature at all personally. Could you not go with a college?
Re: Advice needed re online course please.
I am unable to attend college due to my hours of work. I did my SLT 2 at City of Bristol college, my hours were different then. I was going to do STL 3, but don't know what to do as I'm worried about the government's threat of getting rid of TAs. This is why I would like to study for Early Years as this would open more doors plus I love working with younger children.

aargh cindy will have to look at this!
it is cms training and there is a link for it in a thread in study advice which starts 'your experience please colleges vs training providors vs online courses. The link I posted is been done by quite a few of our teaching assistants this year.

Is it either of those two? They are the top two search results. Sorry I'm being such a pain, I really appreciate your help, thank you.

The website doesn't seem to be working properly, there's just lots of writing all over the top of it.
It would seem it's not my day today, lol.

oh Cazccaz keep trying I'm sure your first idea will be fine you just need someone to be your mentor. Have you thought of the f.d via open university if you could get a grant? It is very expensive if not (as I know to my cost) you will need to volunteer in a school to get it done
