Re: What sort of day have you had
Thanks ladies but no chance of remark at my uni - im hoping I can re submit but that wont be until August (after the graduation day .) the essay was worth 40%
My confidence is now through the floor again, and I have another essay due back next week heaven help me !
I know im rubbish at essay writing, and we had to submit 2 essays on the same day which is a big part of the problem -I cant concentrate on both at the same time .

Re: What sort of day have you had
mrsp - please don't be so hard on yourself - you haven't 'failed', you missed it VERY narrowly, by just one mark. I don't know much about it, but can you discuss it with your tutor and find out if there is anything you can do? It seems incredibly harsh to me that you could have to wait another whole year, especially if you do OK with the essay due back next week xx

Re: What sort of day have you had
oh Linda I hope something gets sorted for you. I wish I knew how to help
I'm afraid I've been having my own emotional crisis all to do with Sarah's ex trying to get back with her (which she secretly wanted ) and now she has found out he is still with somone else, cue tears and emotional wreckage which meant I didn't get to bed till 3.30 this morning. I'm now desperate to go to bed but wonder if she'll be ok once I am there!!
Oh why are kids so problematic the older they get

Re: What sort of day have you had
Hugs Linda xxx I am hoping that they can do something for you, one mark is a very small amount to change. I can understand if you had missed by quite a few. Surely they can let you resubmit before and so you can graduate with your fellow classmates. So not fair! Don't let this discourage you though, you can do this Linda xx
Helen the joys of having a girl, eh? I do hope it calms down for you and she is happy. x
Work is pretty full on and my functional skills classes are getting huge! Tis all good though but I hate that they stroll in late, blooming teens. My childcare classes are going nice as well and one learner will complete in April

Re: What sort of day have you had
Hi there - ive had time to calm down now and think sensibly .
I have found out that i can re submit, think its in about 6wks time which means its flat out now to get it sorted -need to re write .
Plus i need to crack on with my dissertation !
So im off to uni tomorrow to get my head sorted and find more books !
Monday i will be taking my dad to hospital for a procedure on his back -big injection means he cant drive so I will be up at 5 am -over their house by 6 and delivering him to Bath hospital by 7.30 am. then it will be a short drive over to uni so I can find a good parking spot before taking up residency in the library !
I have a 1 hr lecture 10-11 and after that will return to the library until my mum rings me to say they`re ready to be picked up (no idea when my dad will go in as the surgeon does the injections between operations )
As all this is happening on Monday, its English in the evening as well and we have another assessment looming Monday week (essay about relationships in `The Rabbit proof fence`

Re: What sort of day have you had
there you go then Linda and you only need a couple of extra references in there to pass, look at your feedback improve what they've said and away you go. As Cindy says remember to have some me time.
Cindy have you tried standing in a bucket of whitewash? - clowns find that fun. I'm trying to write my second essay and failing miserably. Just cant get into the title - I've got until the 24th but my next module starts then and I'll have two running concurrently got the books and they look very boring!!!

Re: What sort of day have you had
I know Helen, blooming algebra is boring and there is no fun way of delivering it I have looked everywhere! Never mind position next week and I have some fab die with N,S,E,W,and NE etc on them. I am planning on making a map for each group to find the treasure (cadburys cream egg or something similar) and incorporate coordinates as well
Re: What sort of day have you had
oh I did that with my year 6 group last year I turned the whole floor into battleships grids each pair had to follow a series of positional clues to find the treasure each pair had treasure in a different grid and they had to show the exact route they took so there was no cheating. To make it even harder each pair were told their grids where in different locations in England and they had to find a train or bus from Leeds to that destination on the internet before they were 'allowed' to 'set off' to 'find' their treasure.

Re: What sort of day have you had
mrsp - so sorry you have had no joy; as others have said, it seems very harsh. I am sure you must feel like chucking it all in, but you won't - resilience, strength and grit will see you through and you will get there, I'm sure.
Caff - your Y6 maths sounds like fun, my lot would love it!
Have had my performance management today. Went fine, our HT is lovely - but my 'targets' feel more like a massive 'to do' list than actual targets. Oh well, I guess they'll just add to the never ending list!

Re: What sort of day have you had
Lindy , ask your tutor to assess your essay and show how you missed the marks. So you know how you approach it c

ditto Liz.
Linda when I get my 0% for my next essay I'll let you know! I've spent two weeks on it and have got the ethical guidance (copied and pasted from my other essays) and my introduction done! not a single reference or idea for the main body.
Why do we put ourselves through this
